I absolutely loved this project.
For this project we did a full photoshoot. From those photos, the family selected a favorite (which was actually my favorite too) for the portrait. The eyes are captivating.. and huge!
The Batesville Area Arts Council Gallery asked me to be a featured artist for their Main Street Art Walk. I had a beautiful display in the top of the Historic Landers Theater.
Again this year I got to create the look for the annual Ozark Foothills FilmFest. I really like the way this years turned out and especially the tshirts. Looking forward to another great day of movies tomorrow. Bob and Judy are the very best.
Ugh… My website recently got hacked, but that gave me an excuse to work on it, I guess. I have made a lot of changes to the galleries, and there is artwork missing from some of the galleries, but I am working on it. It should all function better on mobile and be easier to update. Enjoy.
Hand Painted Bracelet of Downtown Paragould
The new MOCA Arkansas had a unique fundraiser to benefit the contemporary art museum that will soon be located in Paragould, hopefully downtown. They asked local artists to paint wooden bracelets to be auctioned off at a private viewing of their collection. There was also a small contest for best bracelet.
I wanted to do something that would represent Paragould and my miniature paintings, of course the downtown landscape came to mind.
Seersucker and Linen was a unique event featuring big hats, croquet, Bourbon punch and the auction of our bracelets. I have to say a lot of work went into all the bracelets features. Jim Porterfield, an artist from Jonesboro’s bracelet was a particular standout.
I was honored to win the bracelet contest and $100 – thanks MOCA!

I am proud to announce my newest painting, Bathing Beauty. Oil on 16″x20″ stretched canvas.
Bathing Beauty by Mandy Maxwell
This painting felt like a great accomplishment to complete. I worked with a very limited and specific color palette of complimentary colors, plus white. It was quite an experience and I think the result turned out even better than the photograph.
Original photograph taken by me with my friend Jen modeling. We had her in my bathtub with with flower petals and limbs with giant thorn clusters (not in this picture, however).

At the Arts & Music Festival, the new ArMOCA had a bracelet contest that I couldn’t resist to enter. The tall shape gave me an idea.. and, even though it took me way longer that I ever should have worked on this bracelet.. I did this..
Ben and I have recently joined the board for Main Street Paragould. I am loving being a part of something where I can make a difference right here at home. I live pretty close to downtown, and probably use it more than most: my yoga class is downtown, I get coffee and cupcakes often, meetings, bars.. I love it.
The Director, Gina is a wonderfully spirited woman and I couldn’t help painting her little caboose, aka the Main Street Paragould headquarters.
