Chree Journeys at the SAAC Gallery

I am thrilled to invite you to experience my latest exhibition, “Chree Journeys,” at the South Arkansas Arts Center (SAAC) Lobby Gallery from July 27 to September 5, 2024. This series, inspired by the symbiotic connection between trees and chairs, explores the dynamic interplay between our grounded existence and the boundless growth of our thoughts. Each piece serves as a visual metaphor for the human thought process, where trees symbolize adaptability and resilience, and chairs represent the structured nature of our memories.

Join me at the artist’s reception on Saturday, July 27, from 6:00-7:30 pm, held in conjunction with Gary and Christopher Bachers’ reception. I am excited to share this journey with you, and I hope my work will evoke a sense of wonder and introspection.

The SAAC gallery exhibits are free and open to the public from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

DNSPE 2024 Print Symposium Print Exchange

I’m pleased to share that I recently took part in the pop-up alumni print exchange during the DNSPE 2024 Print Symposium Print Exchange, which ran from May 14 to July 20, 2024. This pop-up show was a special tribute to the collaboration between the University of Tennessee Knoxville and alumni artists from Arkansas State University. It featured an exciting display of exchanged prints in the passage connecting the Bradbury Art Museum and the Fowler Center theaters. Being part of this event was a wonderful experience, allowing me to showcase my work alongside fellow artists and celebrate the vibrant printmaking communities at both institutions.

Paint Day in Art Alley

Over the weekend I had the exciting job of coordinating a community paint day in Art Alley for Downtown Paragould. This was the kick-off event for what we envision to be an ongoing and ever changing mural work for our local downtown. It was lovely to see groups of all ages come out to help paint a 90ft wall of EIGHT murals all in one day. I never would have dreamed we would have finished so fast. We finished all the designs in about 3 hours. Yes, you read that right, THREE hours. Of course, our Main Street Paragould board (which I am on) worked to have everything prepped, backgrounds painted and designs drawn out. I never would have dreamed we would have SO MANY great volunteers.

Oasis Arts & Eats Fest 2022

Yesterday was a hot day in the sun, but a great day to see art at the Oasis Arts & Eats Fest in Downtown Jonesboro. I love it when I get to see people experiencing the Chrees for the first time, as well as those coming back to see my new work. I was very stressed for the weather but it ended up being a beautiful, sunny day!

Little Debbie Mural Commission

Was asked to paint this Little Debbie mural on the side of a little renovated old store in our little town here in Arkansas. She’s a big girl, but I was able to finish it in a weekend with a whole lot of help from my mom and my dad helped a little. She really stands out in the sleepy neighborhood on S. 4th Street in Paragould, Arkansas.
